Thumbs Up

took my brand new SO out on the water today, at first it felt a little small, but asoon as i got onto a bigger fin, it was just brilliant! its either a 2004 or 2005 but it had never been taken on the water, or even rigged.

some cons on the sail.

  • took a while to tune the battens but i did that earlier so it was strait onto the water,
  • needs a lot of downhaul, no way you could get it without a winch
  • not a very loose leach (probably due to down haul though)

but other than those small things the sail was great, when i needed some more power just give it 5mm less on the out haul and it would give me twice as much power and strait onto the plain. the sail didn't feel over powering or out of control at anytime, after a rough landing on a jump it would keep the power locked in so it is easy to get back onto the plane,

the sail looks like it would be a gental wave sail, but it trully is full of grunt, packed full of power just great, performance of the sail is very similar to the hotsails SMACK but with a few noticable differences. lot more power,(i could have been on the 4.8 smack not the 4.2 so), bit of a lower cutaway, but it is also longer so it is more versatile for different peoples hights,

best pure wave sail i have, and have sailed, and cant wait for some high wind summer action
