Hi all,
I don't normally post in the reviews but I just have too after using the new 5.3 blade. I have to say this is the best sail I've ever used. In the last couple years there hasn't been much of a change if at all but this year the luff has been reduced by around 30mm I think and the shape is definitely new.
It is with out a doubt the best balanced and lightest feeling sail I have ever used. Today's session was super gusty (5-15kts) normally I have to wrestle the sail in these conditions but the new model handles the gusts superbly. Definitely check one out and have a go so you can make a decision for yourself, you won't be disappointed.
Cheers, George

Hey George, I don't get it....5.3m in 5-15kts? Super gusty? That's a breeze No?

Nice looking sail though!

I think he was saying that it was 5-15kt gusts above the local wind conditions. That's what i read into it

Ok, I was just calling it super gusty. The charts were saying 10-25kts. Either way this sail handled the super gusty conditions so well, easily the best balanced sail I've ever used.

Constant 10-15 knot variations in wind speed would be considered gusty in most people's eyes regardless of what the minimum is so what's your point?

I've got a feeling you'd be the first person removed if we did implement an idiot test.

Why be so sensitive? These forums are where people have a conversation, where people give their opinion and ask questions. Like qldnacra asked what was your point? Some times there is a little banter and pisstake. I find this day in age really sad were people get 'offended' over the slightest crap. Fall over, eat dirt, get up, brush it off and continue on. Sometimes in life you might get an abrasion. If you find this offensive well I think it's time to HTFU.

Apology accepted

Hey George,
Totally agree with you, the Blades 2017 are just the best of all...., each year the Blades seem to get better and better but this year they really stand out. Neutral on the wave, powerful and comfortable on gusts, they ve got it all.
I bought the quiver and I particularly like the 4.7 in side off conditions, a must try for sure!!!

Totally agree with you guys. This years Blade improves on all the characteristics that has made the Blade an excellent all round wavesail, with huge wind range and amazing stability for many years . This year though does have a noticeable light balanced feel, that's not saying last years didn't, it's just that the current model takes it all a step further and improved an already exceptional product. I've only used the 4.5 in gusty 20-40 knots and it was awesome. Looking forward to using the 5.0 as that's my main sail along with a 5.7 for light breezes. For those that complain about red, the current model looks fantastic with the new colours.
