In the past after using a 5.5 or 5.7 as my big sail, there have been days when my 80kg still felt a little bit undercooked and these sails never felt as compact and as nice as a 5.3 I also don't have much spare time at the moment to make a larger wave board.
So this year I've gone 4.7 5.3 6.2 I was concerned the spacing may have been a bit to big. I spoke to Reflex who has used a 6.2 he felt it was "doable"
I've tried out the 6.2 a couple of times now and I'm stoked ![]()
Rolled up in the bag it feels pretty light. Initially it felt a little unstable until I played around with it's rigging and adjusted my harness lines.
Ergonomically/spatially it just feels like a 5.7, power-wise it gets me on the plane super early, yesterday when the wind picked up and others changed down from 5.7 to 5.3 I put on a bit more down and out haul and it was fine. It was starting to feel maxed out and I could have tightened it more, but I still used it that way for another hour ![]()
It feels similar to my other blades I wish I had of bought one years ago.
Watch out MR OWL and all you other lightweights(Greenie) that use 5.7's there's a new kid on the block Mr 6.2[}:)]
