HI Tim,
No review here yet either but it's getting closer.
The ship with new JP slaloms and a lone Formula board docks tomorrow. Should be in store about mid next week with a bit of luck and on the water the same day.
Will show her off along with the new Slaloms at the NSW State Formula titles on the 10-11th of December.
Sam.
Took out the JP Formula 100 today in 20 knot Noreaster on Botany Bay with a NP RS Racing 9.8 and a VMG K73.
Typical Botany Bay steep chop. In these conditions it would have been even faster with a VMG K70. This board has quiet a bit of V so I dont think it needs as much fin as a Starboard 162 or HWR.
I was afraid I might have some trouble with the JP boxy rails that go all the way to the nose.
But this board has a magic rocker line, it flew up wind railing just right and skimming over the chop, very comfortable indeed. OK lets turn around and go down wind.
This board has 2 chicken straps, so 4 straps all in a line. So it was straight into the chicken strap in this wind and sea. The board rides smooth without any hint of wanting to nose dive and sooooo fast. I tried to get the board to dive into the back of the rolling swell, but no it flies over it without any sign of trouble, even with a kitesurfer lying in front of the mast it still wouldnt dive. ( those guys should really look before they turn )
Thanks to Sam from WindSurfNSnow for the loan but dont expect that I will ever bring it back.![]()
Cheers
Rick
