I Got a chance to ride to new Kode 94 on sunday morning at melville in the swan river.
The wind was a bit gusty, i would say between 20 to 30 knots and i was sailing with the 09 Severne Blade 5.0m.
The first run on the Kode had my interest levels up, started planing straight off the beach with little effort from me, the board felt lite and fast and blasted through the bumpy stuff with ease.
Gybes: I was deliberately trying to throw some tight turns to see how the Kode would respond, i was very suprised at how well it turned and controlled, even hard slam gybes the Kode did what i wanted.
It is one of the best boards of this size i've ever gybed, held it's speed and exited very cumfy, with plenty of volume for a slow rig flip.
Jumps:
Well what can i say "WOW...." is it was a boat load of fun, it lauches of nothing and with complete control, and impressively high considering i could only get jumps on my wrong tack and it gave me enough confidence in the board to get higher every time. Landing was a snap, nice wide nose for some nose dive landings and tail first the board hardly lost any speed.
My conclusion is the Kode 94 is a awesome board and i give Starboard 2 thumbs up for this freestyle wave board and i will be definately be spending alot more time on this board over the summer.. ![]()
