Hi everybody,
I am a passionate argentinian windsurfer living in Kirra, Coolangatta for the next 3/6 months. Does somebody know if Kirra or other nearby beach is a good windsurfing spot? I am used to 90L board and 5.0 freestyle and wave sailing. I dont have my gear now (only my harnes, base and extension), but I would like to buy a second hand gear if I find a good windsurfing spot close to here. I would love to share some sailing with other windsurfing fans.
Please feel free to contact me if you want to join some sailing.
Cheers,
Matias

Welcome mate,
The only place you will find other windsurfers is at Currumbin Alley - a short drive north of where you are living.
It is a great wave sailing spot when the conditions are right - normally South Easterly winds.
90-100 litre board and a 5m - 5.5m sails are perfect for this spot (can be a bit light on the inside).
There are several of us who will be out there if a south easterly wind is blowing.
It is quite a beginner friendly spot but best stay a bit clear of the pack of surfers hugging the point.
There is the odd angry one unfortunately - It is the gold coast however...
Kirra can be ok in a North Westerly wind too.
Hopefully see you out there sometime
