No Jeff, only about two and a half, maybe three. Wind came in nice. Pope was over the other side.
Was very on off, gusty flooky, but beautiful day.
Was having too much fun to rig again and do the walk up and down at low tide.

I have a new unuse, no dents, no scratches windsurfer LT but no rig. Don't even have a paddle to SUP with not that I could bring myself to do that. I sold my old board and rig and will hopefully after September be equiped to join you guys.

Original Windsurfers are unique because of the board's surfboard design and its soft lightweight sail rig.
The board puts you barely on top of the water, not high above it. It has a modest sized fin so the board can be maneuvered, tacked or jibed quickly.
The sail is a 6.0 and can be rigged in just a few minutes. It's lightweight, easy to pull out of the water and easy to handle while sailing.
I've never sailed a board that was even close to the experience of an Original Windsurfer. And it's hands-down the best long board for freestyle because of those same design attributes.
One interesting development that has surfaced from racing Original Windsurfers against newer technology boards is that the Original Windsurfer can compete very well, and sometimes win against newer and more expensive equipment with sails that are up to 40% larger.And you can do so much more on an Original Windsurfer than just go back and forth.

The last paragraph needs clarification to which boards your competing against and what else are you doing on your one design besides going back and forth and freestyle??????
So AusMoz are you saying that in say under 6 knots on a smooth water persons of similar weight, the guy on an Windsurfer has no chance at all against a modern race board with larger CAM sail?
i would have thought in the lighter winds the soft rails and curved rocker of the Wally combined with a soft sail would be no real disadvantage. I'm no racer but in sub planning conditions I would say a competent sailer would be competitive.

I have done two of the One Design days on Race Boards prior to finding a One Design myself.
One on a Lightning and old North 9.5 and another on a Phantom with a 9.5 Severne.
As suggested in really light wind the One Designs with similar weight riders were quicker and able to point higher than I was. Lighter more experienced sailors were heaps quicker than me. I really only had an advantage when the breeze came in a bit.
Talk to Andrew if you see him, I think he had a similar experience when we did one at Sandstone recently when we had from absolute zero to 15 knots in the space of the hour or two we were on the water.
Love my Raceboard, but the One Designs are pretty good fun in the really light stuff, and I know which sail I would rather be uphauling.

Yep this is what i wanted clarified if he meant going out in 15 knots on a wally vs a Rb. For me from 0 to 6 knots is one design. Anything over 8 is formula or RB. Ishoukaty6 really needs to clarify what he says to tell who he is competing against in what conditions. Would love to see him in 20 knots against a formula, slalom,RB or speed board. How many of you take the wally's out in 15 + knots? Cant recall the last time i seen a one design carving into a gybe.
As for racing - do they race in 6 knots or less?

i take wallys out in 15 plus knots and when the winds up wallys carve gybe very well. Only thing that slows me down when it's over 20 is fitness.

Wallys don't sail in over 15 kts
Moz, i took my 380 phantom n 9.5 Sev Rb to sail with Wally crew at Sandstone. In very light winds all were pretty equal. Once its 10-15 n up , i think the RB has the clear edge. But i was surprised at the speed n agility of the new Wally. Nothing like the original Wally. Much much nicer than the ever pointing upwind original Wally. Be interesting to sail Wally n RB back to back with same rig n sailor.
