What was it like up there today, i'm on the Gold Coast and it was on and off all day. Is it worth the drive tomorrow?
Come on Haircut, come with us to VP! I plan to get there about 12pm. Wind looks good and tide as well.
Yeah that'd be right. Stuck with family weekend out of town. VP my fav place too. Hope u all enjoy....
Well it was pretty hard for me on the slalom gear and 6.2 sail. But it was nice to meet few locals and Marty.
Cheers guys, looking forward to sail with you soon again.![]()

Thanks George. Great to meet you too. I'm glad I went for the Bump and Jump gear with the 5.5m sail instead of the slalom gear like yourself. Some of those bullets coming through were pretty full on. It was far more comfortable in the rough stuff than the slalom board although I couldn't beat your 2sec peak....
Gestalt - I'm not sure who you were out there sorry. I'll have to introduce myself next time.
I'll put together a clip from today and post it up from the GoPro on my head.
Cheers
Marty
Hi guys - I was there for a couple of hours - you could probably tell I was the one getting smashed on the big board, the monster (pacifico) with Ka 5.3m sail. I must admit to having a couple of nice runs early. You guys looked to be having a ball - good to see.
Cheers

I figured I would have a go at some Beach/Water starts after all I spent a lot of time in the water lol. You guys looked to getting some nice pace on. Nice - good to watch, keen to get a bit of that myself.

Mate I'd say you keep up all this progress you've made and you wont be very far away at all. Great bunch at Vic point and nice safe conditions to learn in (especially if your wearing boots)
Quick video from last Sunday at Victoria Point. It's really only the first run as there was water on the lens for the rest of the time which made the footage unwatchable. Sorry guys as I thought there might be more footage of some others.
Cheers
Marty
cool vid, jinxy will be happy he made it into the vid. shows the conditions well.
yeah it was very choppy down the eastern end. made sticking the gybes real hard. i had to really bend the knees and stacked a lot of them getting airborn off those rollers halfway through the gybe.
Nice sailing Marty hopefully you will teach me to gybe like that.
Here is a dodgy video from last Sunday also.
Really cool Marty! Yip my wife took that footage If we get some more wind in a weekend she'll get some of all of us out there
I've watched yours many times Greg which is what made me finally come out there to try the spot in a SE'er as it looked like fun. It's a great spot for learners and can be reasonably flat in the SW corner on high tide. As long as you can miss the low tide is a great place.
Thanks everyone for sharing.

It's good at low tide, very flat water over by the banks, bumps in the middle, pretty flat in the south west shallows.
