12:00pm There's a bit of breeze about. 12-15 knots NNE. good for some laid back cruising on the
big gear. It may even pick up a bit more !..Definately warm enough to go get wet.

update 12:30pm 15 knots NNE.Max gust 18 knots. Incomming tide. Think I'll pop down to Wynnum for a look.

..dropping now, down to 13.6 knots....you know Clive it might be a bit more constant out on the water rather than here in the marina.

Wello was strickly big gear. Kevin and Albert got going with 8.3 and 8.5 sails and large boards. I only had a 7.8 and 110l futura. I rigged in hope and was dissapointed. It looked like there was better wind at Wynnum. Still it was better than work.

This thread needs some controversy, it might be time for a formula John, you could have sailed over to Wynnum in 5-10 minutes and had a good session.

Cam,

If I was smart enough I could have driven over there. I should have remebered that Wynumm gets more wind in a marginal NNE than Wello.

With regard to sailing a "Door", If you remember, I tried your "door" late last year. It was great upwind, but like wrestling a crocodile off the wind. I'm afraid 7.8 is the largest sail I want to use on a board less than 2.4m in length.

Me too! But fair call. I was trying to be merely controversial, but that was just sheer madness.
