Aye, but I don't use it much.
That web cam is quite revealing. Looks like a big spread of shallow water out of the way of the tidal current.

yeah it is a big shallow area to the northern side. there is also some shallow spots on the southern side as well but not as large an area. it's very forgiving there because if you stack a jump you don't spend hours struggling to water start getting nailed by each wave. just stand up and go again. it's where I first tried wave sailing as a teenager.

those that know what they are doing head to the outer banks for the waves out the back which can get mast high in a big southerly. if that's not your thing then gybe on the inside bank where it's waist high before heading back into the flats of the channel.

stacking it in the channel can be a struggle because the tide rips through there so your gear can turtle. my motto is incoming tide or not going out. the locals are not so picky with tides but it can be dangerous on an outgoing tide.

you should come Monday if you are free. I reckon from 1pm onwards should be ok.

spoke with peter nitschke today. said they hit neil st this morning for a surf because the wind was SW. as the day went on it swung SE so they rigged up and hit moffat reef on their supsails.

lifes tough, apparently.
