I have an old (probably around 25 years) Tyronsea Falcon that I take out from time to time. I have managed to crack near the nose + seam is starting to split near the crack. What's the best way to repair? Any suggestions/ideas? Thanks.

i learnt to sail on a tryonsea falcon and had the same problem.try to scrape the seem to remove old glue if you mix up some epoxy and pour in to the seams and down to the foam then tape up the join leave to set. epoxy is not the best glue but will stick for a while . with the crack sand it back cut some small patches of woven fiber glass . this will get messy put one patch of glass over the crack and pour on superglue, quickly spread the glue with your finger to wet out the glass .once you have wet out the glass and the superglue has dry sand the edges to clean up then lay some more glass over the crack this time use the epoxy to wet out the glass you can over lap edges if you want but pre treat the plastic with super glue as the epoxy sticks to superglue better than plastic. once the every thing is sanded go over the seam and crack with white sickeflex. you could possibly use sickeflex only on the seam but i dont know if its foam safe. i think they use to have poured foam core.

What you spend in labour and materials for a old board you could buy a better board.

You're probably right. Already have other boards. Got if for nothing & is ok to muck around on in lighter winds. Just like to find the "cheapest" way to keep it alive.

Agree I was thinking the same - there a few relic longboards on gumtree. Probably cheaper than the cost of obtaining epoxy and materials to do the repair
