A proposal has been put forward to put an off the lead dog park behind RQYS on the beach there. This would play havoc with the Windsurfing Center of Excellence courses as well as disrupt the average sailor.

Does this area form part of the RAMSAR wetlands conservation area? If it does as I think it does then use this as a defense because its one thing BCC is cautious of and knows full well the consequences of ignoring this. This then becomes a federal issue rather than local but good luck with it as dog owners are very intolerant of anything that takes away their dogs rights. I have seen police officers verbally abused by dog owners when requesting that the dogs be on a leash.
