Hey Guyz,
Recently, I've come to realise that its time to live some of my dreams before its too late. With the recent reports from Green Is, I've become inspired to do the trip next year. So the plan is to roughly leave middle of June 2015, returning approx Mid Aug 2015. Plan would be to sail @Green Is, and have a look at and sail @Cairns, @WhitSundays, @Burrum, @SEQ, down thru @NSW, visit relatives & friends in @Vic, vist my @SA buddies, and back home in @WA by mid August.
Has anyone done the roadtrip? Suggested Routes? Thinking of driving straight thru initially and then slow crusiy drive back home.
What do I need to budget for 7 to 10 days all inclusive @Green Is?
Hope to meet some of you along the way.
Joseph (hardie)
Sounds rad. The inland route isnt that inland ubtil nsw and qld as you'll still need to go over the nullabor. Through burke and charleville would be the way then back down the coast. Brisbane to southern nsw is all epic. Southern nsw to Melbourne is mostly inland then you'll be back on the coast for the great ocean road to adelaide (great spots along there)
Sounds an adveture. Do it.
And 7-10 days sounds about right. Took us 5.5 days perth to briabane and it's at least another two north, even inland
I think you're gonna struggle to find wind from Gladstone to Sydney at that time of year.
best time to do a trip like that would be to arrive at green early august with a 2 month or so run down the eastcoast and around to SA.
but, then you miss the nationals which is a real problem.
Thanx for replies guyz, I'll take all into consideration. Usually 1 week is a long time in my life. so 12 months away, a million things will happen. Late June July early Aug, allows me to escape winter here. But I'm hearing that SEQld, & NSW are going to be better Sept, bugger. That may have to be 2016. Anyway as I said, thanx for replies. 12 mths is a long way off for me.
Found this on Google Maps which I presume is Bitumen all the way? www.google.com.au/maps?bav=on.2,or.r_cp.r_qf.&bvm=bv.69837884,d.dGI,pv.xjs.s.en.uXax_bh6Sqg.O&biw=1366&bih=617&dpr=1&wrapid=tljp140422450704310&um=1&ie=UTF-8&gl=au&daddr=Cairns+QLD&saddr=Perth+WA&panel=1&f=d&fb=1&geocode=KT1zR9tsljIqMdBV3zW18AQD;KRMkoltVYnhpMWB4IH_x7gAE&dirflg=d&sa=X&ei=-cOyU56uG8SHkQXjjYD4Cg&ved=0CB0Q-A8wAA
