This month, due to school holidays, we'll should sail two events. Most of us will be at the lake this weekend so;
1. Lake Cootharaba, Boreen point, this coming Sunday. We'll join LCSC the help lift there competitor numbers. Meet at the club 10am
2. Maroochydore, Cotton Tree, Saturday 11 October. The plan is to sail around Goat Island as a fun race and very challenging to sail on moving water :) According to BOM it will be High at 10am. Depending on the wind we should be good to go around that time, so 10am meet for a 10.45am start.
Peter Nitschke will not be joining us for any of these events but I'll organise the boards to be at the venues. You are most welcome to use one of the boards as per usual.
The helmet cam will be at all events and we'll make an other great video for all to enjoy.
This event is open for all levels, it's about having fun and having the best time ever!
Thanks Justin, that's good to know. My family will be there also.
This coming Saturday we're going to Cotton Tree, Maroochydore for our WindWanaderers social get-together. The plan is to sail around Goat Island and meet back at Cotton Tree for lunch. I sailed it last week and had great fun. Is't narrow at some points but very doable. 7 sailors have already committed to this event. 3 are not so experienced sailing in these conditions. The wind will be mild and on the tacking side I'll make sure the tide is with us. The whole area is surrounded by sand and beaches so you'll be right.
Meet at Cotton Tree car park at 10am for a 10.45 ish start. This time I'll bring the WOD trailer.
Hope to see you all out here and please feel free to send me any comments or questions.
Just got permission :-)
Tony 'nowork' is also comming
See you there. - so looking forward to sailing at a new location
Cheers Jeff
had another great day guys. enjoyed the mini marathon. water is so clear there and the banks have changed completely since I was there in july.
thanks peter d for all of your efforts getting the gear for everyone to use. looks like the numbers are growing! i'll try and get some photos online today. but the great race is on.
pete are we talking about your adventure at the end of the day?
What a fun day yesterday was with the Wind Wanderers even though the wind was light we had a blast - Thanks for putting it on Peter De Laet. Keep us posted for future events
And again a really nice group of people.
Here are a couple of photos from the event thanks to Anita
A day on the water with your mates - how good is that :-)
Had a great time sailing around the island. Thanks to Peter and the Windwanderers.
Enjoyed sailing with all the crew. I think we had all the local improvers/intermediates at the one event. Must be a healthy sign for local windsurfing.
Tony 'nowork' dropped by this morning with his new purchace...
Needs some work but seeing some of the boards tony has reclaimed I reckon it'll be a beauty
