Hi everyone, hope you are doing great. I'm travelling and right now windsurfing in Melbourne, but un a couple of months when it start getting colder I'm planning to move to somewhere else, of course where I could windsurf.

How is QLD to sail in winter? It is actually windy (20 knots or more) to get in the water a 2 or 3 times a week?? What's the average temperature? My idea is go where the wind goes, so... where would you recomend me to move? I prefer wave sailing.
Thank you !!!!

One word - Cairns.

Trade winds crank up there in the winter months. You may need a rashie as night time temps can get as low as 21deg c

BTW - Wave sailing really only achievable on the outer reefs with B&J off the beaches. Green Island great for GPS /speed sailing and B&J.

A thread FYI - www.seabreeze.com.au/forums/Windsurfing/Queensland/Is-cairns-really-that-windy/

Good, my idea is to move there, get a job and windsurf. So you can go windsurfing to green island and also windsurf on Cairn beaches right?
