11:00am 8 knots NNE. Hoping for a seabreeze to prop this up a bit this arvo. Yesterday was good. Fully powered on the 7m.![]()
update 12:30pm. 9 knots NE......
no worries greg.
it's at kirra. 1-1.5m deep along the bank, only works at low tide. at a guess it's 500-700m long.
you could probably get another 500m out of it if you headed up to north kirra in the gutter. has crystal clear flat water and would be killer freestyle venue.
very crowded on sunny days.
Just had a look at tides and now realise why the pond is so good currently. I think it's a case of get it while you can.
magic
last time it was like that it didn't last long as we got those massive winds that eroded all the beaches shortly after
I went to check it out again today as I was on the goldy for a job. noticed no life guards or flags on that part of the beach today. not that many people around at all.
it looks to be closed at the northern end so it is a lake as such. the tide today was lower than when I was there on the weekend so I could see another bank out further which is the original one that runs right up past north kirra. the water in that outer channel was choppy and the outer bank not exposed.
looking at the forecast....
Monday arvo late might be an opportunity but the tide is suspect. will need to check out the webcam as the day approaches to see what the tides are like.
r u keen?
Looking good so I'm there.
Tide was low enough at 2pm today.
Tomorrow bom has strong wind warning for Goldy.
If anyone's keen I'd like to try some late arvo flash photography and get the sun in the background.
Plus there is a full moon so night sailing might be viable.
Will be there around 4pm. If the wind doesn't deliver I can always find some landscape shots.
Tomorrows mission is try a Vulcan or 2
We're hoping for a late arvo sail at kfc/central street but fingers crossed it goes ne. Either way it will be better coastal. Alternativly we we are due a sse/se after a few neaster lies on a row. So maybe the train or vic point
How did you work out a SE today Monday ?? From what I see it looks N'ly all day.
But I hope you are right........
We mean next southerly. Not today. This time of year we get a few days of north then a day or 2 of south
Kirra 1 - Justin 0
Graphs tell it all. Solid when I got here then proceeded to die..
Eggs got here mid arvo and had his fill.
