Anyone sailed this week? Troy, Brett anyone? I'm keen for a sail, been down with elbow tendonitis but will sail drug assisted if necessary. Wondering how rank the box jellies are. Heard fish suffocators at Armies last week end casting nets in the shallows were getting nets full of the bastards. I'll be fully suited up but geez if they're that thick I may postpone. Seems to be plenty of them around this year for some reason.
Had a good sail at Bowen on sunday, Until the cam on my 7.2 decided to break.
Wind was probably a good 20kts by mid arvo, and as luck would have it I left my 6.4 at home.![]()
Didn't see any jellies.
Where do you guys usually sail from at Mackay?
Was going to take the Raceboard out at Far Beach this afternoon. There was not quite enough wind for the small boards. Then discovered that there were some repairs overdue on the board and rig. So got my finger out and will be ready for next time.
Hi Mackay sailors, if you're keen to come up to Airlie there's great racing at the Whitsunday sailing club every Sunday from now on. I'd love to have some more board competition. 1pm start on the water, windward leward racing. Hope to see you there, all welcome. Regards, Dennis Winstanley.

Always thought the wind was too gusty for windsurfing in Airlie.
What size board do you use Dennis?
Might come and have a look today if your heading out.
Thanks for the invite Dennis,
I,m in Mackay and would be keen to get amongst any kind of social sailing.
I don't have a long board(yet) but will certainly come and check it out and have a crack with my SLW if wind permits.
Shaun.
Hi guys, racing was good, great that Brett came up from mackay, big effort, he was rewarded with two wins. We had a 10kt norwester so it was reasonably consistent but a bit lumpy. Still good conditions for tactical racing. The start line was only about 200m from the clubhouse so that's a bonus, not having a marathon to get to the course. 3 short races, good fun.
Burrum heads gps speed sailing is the next major event on the horizon for me, then the wsc easter regatta. Looking forward to crossing paths with you guys soon. Don't forget the raceboard states at lake cootharaba, good to have a busy month with lots of variety to keep up the skills.
Regards Dennis.
