Heading up to the Lake tomorrow for a bit of R&R and sailing, anyone else going ?
Hi Glenn, i will be at Lake Cootharaba this weekend.
Might be a bit crowded. Boreen is apparently booked out and Elanda may reach capacity. Either way its going to be very busy.
Are you talking about the camping ground Tristan? I'm hoping to hit up Cootharaba or Weyba on Sunday perhaps.
I'll be stuck in Brisbane on Fri/Sat, so I guess I might have the bay to myself by the sounds of it! Maybe Obama and Putin will want to join me? HAHA ![]()

Elanda camp ground for me. Hope coz I'm going tomorrow may miss the rush. The NE may be better further south I think but have to try out some new Sups so all cool !
What's the Lake like in the "Predicted" NNW wind on Sunday? Contemplating a flat water session..
Dave, sail the ocean, 'sea breeze' always is best on the 'sea'
Lake C is not a great conductor of the northerly, can tell you heaps of times its a trickle of fickle up there super hot, you can see and smell the seabreeze over at Teewah, just teasing, but it just doesn't really fully fill in on the lake.
In a N/NE and as soon as you get even a little further south say Noosa Heads, its on big time...N/NW Lake C even worse!
If you want 'flat' and long in NE head to Weyba , walk out to the wind line and it funnels in through the lake opening from Noosa Heads, tides will suit Noosa river mouth also....'Munna Point' on Noosa River works in a NE and is not a bad short flatwater blast. And of course there is Golden Beach, which will be on for speed runs no doubt, there is a small flatwater run at Cotton Tree also, but its pretty short.
If it is N/NW Mooloolaba is the best spot that handles that direction.
* There could be a chance of the MMMM downwind blast on Saturday arvo!![]()
Sup all morning, sail all arvo, party all night !
You barely have the energy for a third of that schedule!
