Anyone else get any good sessions today?

I finally got to test my wave board out first time, still some tweaking to do but very impressed with it, my first open ocean sailing in a way too long..

Castaway's was working nicely bit underdone on the 5.2, but snuck a couple of quick wave rides, some floaty swell jumps out the back, and hung out with a big pod of dolphins which was pretty cool, and better still made every run out through the break first time, even underpowered, which was a pleasant surprise....nice to be on some comfy wave gear in the ocean, and very glad I've been disciplined in my fitness routine of late as I had forgotten just how taxing wave/ocean sailing can be. Will sleep well tonight!

Nice one jonesy. I'll join you one day. Love open water sailing. Even on slalom kit.

we get good up here macro, soothed the aching bones with a quick lazy hour at Lake Weyba, the S/SE direction was really nice, quite smooth & no jet boats to dodge!!
just Vando and Pete C to chase! rigged for the lulls not the gusts which were +25, bad move but still a nice quick blast.

Heaps of open water sailing here Steve, its all easy on day 1 of a blow, then it gets harder as the sweep starts to kick in, down winders are a good option.

Yep Castaways and Mudjimba are still two of my favourite spots to sail on the coast, but you're right after day one of SE'r to much sweep and swell so just getting out can be a mission....spring time northerlies work best at Castaways. Always keen for a downwinder from Castaways to Coolum or vice versa.
