Seems wack? surely it hasn't been 10-15kts there all day.

What wind meter do most people rely on who sail around the bay? And whats your mental calculation?

RQYS seems to be bang on mostly, but can be down at times www.rqys.com.au/weather-station/

I did think that the Brisbane airport one was pretty good, but maybe only in a northerly and its sheltered in a southerly blow? Cape Moreton is usually crazy optimistic... Not really sure about Banana Bank and Inner Beacon, they tend to read about 5kts high I think.

You guys do realise Cape Moreton is on top of a cliff at approx 300-400 ft above sea level.... to me it under reads.
And Brisbane airport reading is from the eastern side of the legacy runway which is behind trees and barely ever accurate.

RQ always reads a bit high by a few knots.. Must be a bit of an updraft there. Here's an inside scoop. Coming soon, a BOM wind meter at Hope banks beacon.
