Here is the schedule for slalom for this season. All racing will be held at either Wynnum Creek or out the front of RQ, depending on the wind direction. First possible start at midday.
Don't forget open day next Sunday September 6th. We will be running fun races to allow new and existing sailors to get to grips / refresh with the course and procedures.
NOTE you MUST be a member of Bayside or an affiliated Windsurfing Australia club to race. If you would like to come and try the races to see if you would like to join you can either -
- sign a waiver
- join Bayside as a social member for $40. This gives you third party insurance for any time you go windsurfing for the year. You can then pay the additional $30 if you decide to continue.
And the 'GPS CHALLENGES' window opens the following Saturday 12th September, so this could be the first event... of course if the wind cooperates. ![]()
Bayside Sailboard Open Day is upon us!
We will have a BBQ from 1100. A race briefing / race instruction will commence at approx. 1230 for new and old to refresh their knowledge.
Fun introductory races will start not long after with an emphasis on learning the starting procedure before real races start in round one.A number of races will be set aside as foil only for all to get accustomed to a reaching course. Approved buoyancy vests are required for all races and helmets for foil.
You must be a member of Bayside or an affiliated Windsurfing Aus club to race, otherwise you must sign a waiver. If you still want to sign up to be a member you can on the day. Please come to the desk and sign in when you arrive (next to containers at windsurf centre).
For those wanting to access the RQYS rigging site you must go to the RQYS reception and request a day pass. The prices are as follows - First 3 times are complimentary
4-6 times | $15 per day
7-12 times | $35 per day
General Sailing Sail Pass Day Member must then join in the appropriate category of membership
Early forecast is looking promising so hope to see you there!
