Requirements for entry to Competition

Competition entry is free to all Financial Bayside Sailboard Club members including social members. There is no requirement for sail identification numbers. To join the GPS competition you need to be a registered member of KA72 website. (Instruction below).

Categories for Sailors Categories are Open (18-44), Masters (45-60), Legends (60 plus), Youth (13-17) and Women. Categories need a minimum of 3 members participating to be considered for end year of presentations.

Competition Locations Wynnum, Manly, Wellington Point, Victoria Point.

Categories for GPS 5 x10sec, Alpha 500m, Hour and 500m speed. A category or multiply categories will be picked for scoring when advising of competition date.

Competition The day for the competition will not be on the same day as any other events in the Bayside Sailboard Club Race schedule. A notice will be sent out, from the Bayside Club Team App, for the competition day based on the forecast. The events will be on Sunday whenever possible and is not tide dependant. There will a minimum of 5 separate competition days required to calculate results. To allow for days when sailors cannot sail there will be a minimum of 8 competition days scheduled between September and May. Sailors who sail more than 5 days will drop their worst results to obtain 5 results. These results will be used for the end of year competition awards. Group Leader has bragging rights only for each competition day. At least one day a month will be planned however more may be required if there no suitable wind during any given month to ensure the minimum required days are achieved. Results will stay up on the KA72 group until a new date is selected. Progress of comp will be updated on Website. Downloaded GPS Tracks will need to be made public on KA72. Results from one GPS only can be used.

Device Acceptable GPS devices will be GT31, Canmore GP102, GW52 and Garmin watch 920XT. (The cheapest device is the Canmore around $80)

Safety As this is not a race there is no rescue boat. For general safety sailors should always sail with others. It is best to wear a floatation device and carry some spare rope.

To Join competition. Below is the web address for KA72. It is free to join. www.ka72.com Then you will need to logon once you have a registered. Go to Groups page. You will then need to join the group for Bayside Sailboard GPS and your membership will be pending. An email will be sent to the administrator to be approved. Once approved you are in the Bayside Group Competition.

Will there be a under/over 80kg weight division like last year? Keep up the good work guys. Love the new Team App.

Hi Martin,
We discussed weight divisions amongst the committee and decided to go with the same divisions as the Burrum Windfest. Glad you like the team App.
