Presidents Report - We had a great season with ten race days completed plus a two-day state championship. The majority of the fleet were 25 years or younger, boding well for the future.
Financial Report - A total of 54 members for the financial year. We ended with a loss of $639.07 for the year. This was due to several factors - Expenses including new race bibs, walkie talkies and buoy pump. Small number of entries for some rounds. Large expense for boat hire
Current committee stepped down - thankyou to the committee members who are stepping down.
New committee chosen -

Treasurer - Jacob Whitford

Race Directors - Shari O'Brien and Kat Pearson
Race Committee - Scott Sharpe, Scott Luxton and Nathanial Dutton

General Business
Open Day - Was successful last season. Practice races for both fin and foil (separate).
Race fees - Increase from $15 to $20 for open fleet to help pay for boat hire costs. $10 for Youth (19 and under).
Increasing slalom numbers - A few good ideas discussed Cheaper race fees for youth ($10). Communicate with RQYS youth squad about providing own division. Provide opportunity for youth or newcomers to come on start boat to see action up close before trying themselves. GPS Foil division - Foils to have their own division with GPS racing. Julien to set up.
Weekend away - Discussions regarding a social weekend away to a sailing location. Potential locations include Lake Cootharaba and Mooloolaba.
Potential collaboration with Gold Coast Windsurfing Club - Mitch to attend GCWC AGM to discuss friendly competition between clubs and promote slalom events. A 'state of origin' style club award was floated, for both slalom and GPS.
State Slalom Titles - Committee is keen to run titles again. October dates with three weekends put aside, one to race (best conditions). Requires approval from Windsurfing QLD.
Sponsorship - Potential sponsors of the season or individual races to be approached. Publicity officers to determine strategy.
Merging of foil and fin - Various options were discussed. The main concern is competitor safety, especially when trying to get new people into the sport. The most positive idea is to hold foil slalom races earlier in the day before the wind is strong enough for fin. This means a longer time on water for the race officers and potentially higher boat fees. An added race fee may be used to compete in both. This will be expanded upon once the race committee meets.
End of Meeting - 2015
