Hey guys here's a video I made yesterday in the afternoon on Marine Parade.
Video includes Justin, Sabina, Peter, and Phil.
Enjoy!
Awesome Kuba, might have to speak to you about using your services to get a high quality video together to promote the sport...
Thanks guys
It was pretty fun filming it all too. Luckily the wind wasn't any stronger as I wouldn't have been able to fly upwind at all. Only had 4m/s upwind.
I even got out afterwards and had a few runs myself which was good.

I'd be happy to help out. This wind was about the limit for the Quadcopter, so anything with gusts above 25 knots and I wont be able to fly back home haha

as it happens burrum is only just around corner....
maybe windsurfing QLD could take advantage of that and help the event at the same time.
Don't have a boom cam. The drone is a Phantom 3 Professional.
Yea Tony, almost got taken out by a kite once!
Hey Jason - I may be wrong but I think the second video was shot by a young Polish guy named Kuba rather than by Zoran. I met him a couple of days ago while he was rigging and I was de-rigging - he sails a Tabou Rocket FSW and knows Justin, Sabine and all the other "free-stylers"
Looks like the sky's soon going to be full of these drones so someone as tall as you will need to keep your head down!!!!
Great video by the way Kuba - some really clear footage which really makes the sport look great!

Thanks mate, previous posts said that the Phantom 3 may struggle in winds over 15 knots, have you found that or have you made some mods ?

Yea I'm the young Polish guy named Kuba, but unless there's someone else with the same name and ethnicity... I don't ride a Taboo board and haven't been out windsurfing lately due to exams. So that may be someone else you are talking about.

Nah its a completely stock P3P and it didn't struggle at all. I made sure I had plenty of time to get back upwind as it was pretty slow going. I'm very pleased with its performance considering the wind was around 20 knots, and gusting to 25. I woudn't risk taking it out if theres any chance of gusts higher than 25 knots though.
Though there was some deviation off course that required correction when traveling perpendicular to the wind. Otherwise solid as a rock. It kept its position using GPS very well.
Great. Look out for those pesky kites
Razor blades on the tips of the rotors would sort out those spectra lines - job done
Hi Kuba
Unless I'm going demented there might well be another Polish guy named Kuba who has recently started sailing on the Gold Coast. I met him while he was rigging to go out on Wednesday (which was the day you took the video and said you also got a sail) and he asked me if there were any areas he should avoid when sailing. He had a tri fin board which I thought was a Tabou. If this wasn't you then it's quite a coincidence

That is correct. There are two Kuba's now on GC. About the same age, both polish roots. New arrival Cuba is sailing more like wave gear/ bump and jump and another Kuba/Jacub more like slalom.
Hopefully we see all them on the Broadwater one day same time sailing.
Just seen the video Cuba and great work! That was a perfect sail that arvo and just train perfection! Flat water, nice wind and surprisingly very few boats. Would be great to a get a hard copy. Any chance you could pop it on a USB and give to your old man????

I am sure it can be done. You deserve the full 4k version, that looks really fantastic.

Oh well my name is Kuba as well and I'm Polish lol
It might be bit confusing as I'm riding Tabou Pocket FSW ;)
Btw, Awesome video, well done mate.
The 25 knot limit may be a bit restrictive on a big race day (which I'd love to capture, the racing at the nationals in 35 knots was absolutely spectacular, the starts sounded like a train was coming across the line) but generally it isn't that windy and we could post you on the boat and capture the excitement of the starts, gybes and dog fights that are always going on between sailors.
