yamba a windsurfers nightmare!

Seen plenty of good stuff about yamba in NE but what about SE for slalom? Everything is offshore protected and gusty , just about busted my ankle hitting a sandbank near whiting beach at near high tide!... All this wind..have my toys here and its going to waste...surely somewhere must be good here in a SE ..ive only seen one other sail out on a 20knt sunny day..which suggests I'm in trouble here!

Can you get out anywhere on Lake Wooloweyah, just to the south of Yamba?

Or shoot round to Iluka by car or boat and sail Iluka Bay. Shortish but flat runs in S to SE

Thanks iluka looks best option in a strong s,se for sure...next time may just pack the sup instead some great spots for both flat water and waves here..would some good sailing here in a NE I'm sure..lovely place..just don't come here hoping to sail in a SE!
