I'm planning a possible trip to woody head in September. looks like a fairly good spot.

I was wondering what the windsurfing is like? looks like some bump and jump inside the reef?

I haven't sailed Woody myself yet but spent just about every holiday there growing up.
There are plenty of bombies and reefs around Woody and Shark Bay. If you want waves have a look at Frazers Reef in a Nor'easter. There a few locals that sail it apparently. Or checkout Iluka main beach it has 4wd access. And if you want some nice flat water drive around to Yamba and launch at whiting beach in a Nor'easter for flat water behind the middle wall.

Have fun. Its a great place to camp.

Ive sailed woody on ne have to watch inside of reef for random chunks of reef .make sure you view bay at low tide and you should be good for mid tide.
Last time I sailed there was a strong northerly sweep in bay at high tide .
Try north side of wall at mouth of clarence any tide ne
