I found the best place in a NE to teach the gf was the beach next to the mangroves on the south side of Swansea heads, straight across from the break wall at blackies. Waist deep and cross on shore. But it's not summer so no NE winds.

Generally the lake is a prick to learn. Muddy oytery no beaches that I know of. Maybe others have some ideas.

Coon island on the lake side at Swansea caravan park

Sandy bottom, relatively shallow, that would be my pick

Good for all directions (for learning)

Not sure where Dunko been sailing on the lake but it sounds like he has only experienced the bad spots, lots of great places to sail.

obviously not the right spots! i went looking around the caravan park but couldnt really work out where to sail, seemed really shallow?
the beach i was talking about is prefect in ne but will look around next summer. i live at catho on the weekends but struggled to know where to go my to teach the missus.

There are currents around that area and it's offshore in a NE not sure it would be good for learning? Just make sure wherever you go its an onshore breeze.
