Just got Al Gleeson's new pb and whilst I am happy for him with it I'm also peeved caused he's knocked me and Chris C down a rung
Well done Al!
Another big mover was Steve Basset who was wrapped to break into the 35 knot club. A big effort on what is quite a big sail.

Yet another change....must have been something in the water this past few weeks.
James Farley from Lake Macquarie has finally broken through the 30 knot barrier. A big congrats to him and I'm sure there are faster speeds to come. Congrats to Dave too for upping his pb by the barest of margins...but hey, it all counts right Dave!!

Calling all NSW speedsters....WIN FREE STUFF!!!!!
Got your attention??? Thanks to the VERY generous offering and support of Sam Parker at Wind Surf N Snow we have an opportunity for all NSW windsurfers to win either product or gift vouchers (hasn't been totally decided yet). Basically come January 1 2010 I will post the table you see above here (and it may be updated bewtween now and then) and over the course of the year Sam will be donating possibly a fin or gift voucher for the greatest incremental jump in someones 2 second peak speed. I think that's a pretty good incentive to sail as fast as you can. Again details are still to be 100% finalised but hopefully you all get the idea. We may have a few prizes for seasonal speeds, ie- end of Summer, Autumn etc etc or it may just be over the whole 12 month period or possibly all of the above!!!
I will be requesting tracks from people at random for verification so I want this to be as honest as possible. With all respect given to the speedsters at the top of the table I am pretty sure the people down the lower end will have a greater chance of improvement so for those people why not have a chat to the faster guys around where you sail and see if you can get some tips. I'm sure they will only be too happy to impart some knowledge.
The prizes will only be given to people who are residing in NSW and the speeds MUST be recorded in NSW waters so sorry to anyone who is thinking of holidaying at Sandy Point sometime next year ![]()

Any questions please feel free to ask or email.
Happy sailing people ![]()
Or I could wear my gps this weekend and submit those times as my opening times.
I dont see how that could be construed as being unfair to any others!
Just have a speed posted before the introduction date, and if required have someone else (already on the table) vouch that you have not sandbagged.
JB
I'll speak with Sam and nut some more details out. Thanks for the input. I did say it wasn't set in stone yet but you're all getting the gist of what we are trying to achieve for you.
Hey John, you never post in the GPSTC so why will you post here??![]()
![]()
. I know, it's the free stuff huh, you're motivated by a what's in it for me aren't ya son...huh huh!!! I knew we were on a winner. ![]()
Andrew,
I could never work out how to post in the GPSStc. Yep - it is probably easy, but I am getting on in years now. I need a teenager to show me what to do!
Computers are just a passing fad, I doubt they will ever catch on.
To go faster I will need to drag my Futura out and learn to sail it. That takes effort on my behalf, and reduces the time I spend on my beloved Formula board ;-(
But I suppose the time is coming to brush the cobwebs off it (hasnt seen the water since April) and try to get my act together.
To make a long story short - Yes, prizes are the be and end all of my life. Even at work I get silver stars that I stick on my forehead.
Bring on more prizes. Sam knows what I want. (HWR, spare X9 530, intravenous skill upgrades etc).
JB
Sick em was referring to the GPS Team Challenge.
gpsteamchallenge.com.au/
Its reasonably straight forward to post sessions on it though getting a bit of hand with the first couple of postings doesn't go astray.
Why not join it? The Demerits really need more members now as there are only two of us who are actively sailing in the team, and I am pretty slow. The team split under amiable circumstances with a new team, the Mid Coast Marauders being formed.
I guess as a formula sailor you know of Geoff Kitchen. He is the captain but isn't windsurfing much now. He achieved a good speed on his formula board.
JB is already a member of the Cockroaches and I'm sure he knows I had my tongue firmly pushed into the side of my cheek when I said what I did.
Aint that right John ![]()
