I think it will probably too onshore for Long Reef. My pick is between Makaha and Brown Water depending how much east is in the wind.

I am heading up there around lunch time.

Always fancied trying the Bower in an ESE - Racecourse peak would stand up for a smack!

three options:

1) drive to the end of the street where WS&S is. Turn left at the last cross street, drive to the end where it turns left and park. There is a small stretch that is really gusty and sometimes has no wind at all but you can usually bog or swim through it.

this is good if you sail brown water. to get right out the back to Makaha is a bit of a slog

2) at the end of the street were WS&S is turn right and drive past the golf course. There is a car park at the end of this road. No grab your gear and walk up the foot path to the top of the hill, then follow the steps down to the headland. There is a small grassy area for rigging. You will need to walk out a bit and watch for submerged rocks in a high tide. It's a long walk but you are right in the main break.

3) There is a vacant lot next to the road in Collaroy where some people launch from. The shore break can get pretty heavy and it's a long sail up to Makaha. The wind is usually not as gusty here.

If someone else is sailing ask for local advice. There are plenty of fin killers waiting near the beach.

fletch, launch off the boat ramp at fisherman's beach & sail right up close to the rock platform. It's great as long as not too east then everywhere is a write off.
.
I'm working today but wind should build tomorrow & JP might be sailing, if not I am regardless.
.
I've never checked the surf.it CAM, I'll try now.

it's the first I have seen it too. It's actually a great camera for Makaha and Brown Water.

My tip - wear shoes/thongs. That walk is a killer on the feet!!

Glad Im not the only one.. I only went out on the lake but out of c 2.30hr got about 20mins of ok sailing..rest was rig changing or sitting out rain squalls....Still there were a few moments..like a decent planing gybe in chop which was counterbalanced by a swim in when the wind died with the small board..

sailed from la parouse over to kurnell and sailed that little novelty wave they surf on the point. actually really fun, light where it wraps around and starts barreling in about 6 inches of water. come undone a few time to the amusement of the surfers.

sailed White Rock (or whatever that break near Makaha is called) today. It was a bit gusty on the inside but once you got out it was ok. Waves where a bit tricky to pick. Took me a while to get the first wave.

When I left there were still 3 bods out. Swell and wind were definitely on the up. Tomorrow morning should be interesting.

On a different note, there were pretty big schools of fish around. Hate to think what else is swimming around behind or below them.

Probably doesn't believe u George. Looks a good set-up but Qwerty probably didn't think so though. One knut just came in here at Gerroa. It's starting to blow but still onshore.9 am briefing at the judges house.

nah... his backyard pool

but to be honest... there are a bunch of unknown spots between Gerroa and the Gong that only work in certain conditions and when the tight is just right. I got a hunch where it is...

It was good. Just wish I'd taken my fishing rod out there. Could've dropped a line over the side while having a rest.

Was lucky enough to get out there for a sesh.

brownwater/fisherman's. surf is messy & wild but it's (relatively) safe in the bay there. rain is not too bad atm although tends to make the wind quite squally particularly in this direction.

if rubbish there then Balmoral, north end & sail out towards the heads.
.
anyone out at Collaroy yet?
