As posted in SMH :(

Sydney's unseasonably warm weather to continue
Warm, sunny days will continue in Sydney for the rest of the week until a cool change ushers in showers and winds on Anzac Day, meteorologists say.

The unseasonable warmth will peak on Friday with a top of 26 degrees, which is four degrees above average, Weatherzone forecaster Sam Terry said.

"What we've got at the moment is a high sitting in the lower Tasman (Sea) and we're getting east to northeasterly winds over NSW and they're quite humid," Mr Terry said.

"That's really why we're seeing the warmer temperatures and we're expecting to see that for the next few days, especially for Sydney and the Northern Rivers area."

Temperatures will peak today at 25 degrees in the city and in the west, with fine and mostly sunny conditions.

Sydney can expect 24 degrees tomorrow and 25 degrees on Wednesday, with fine conditions throughout.

The cool change is expected sometime on Saturday, Mr Terry said.
"A pretty intense cold front will move up through Victoria and NSW and hit us, there'll be lots of rain and cooler winds," he said.

Anzac Day is expected to be damp and cool, with a few showers and a top of 23 degrees.

Lets hope the high will bugger off and give us some nice winds for a change! :)

I'm heading for Forster this weekend. It seems that the closest forecast for Forster is the Newcastle forecast and could be a reasonable SW on Sunday.

Does anyone know what is the best forecast for Forster wind?

Can anyone recommend where to sail at Forster in SW? At the Sailing club towards southern end of Wallis lake?

Thanks,

Adrian

Hi Adrian,

Wallis Lake should be good in a SW wind.

I'm just checking out Google Maps and in a SW somewhere around Green Point may be good. A couple of kms past the turnoff to Green Point going south there is a turn off onto the lake. Perhaps there is a launch area there. I haven't sailed there so I can't say for sure if its any good.

Off Seabreeze if you checked both the Port Mac and Newcastle graphs that would give you a good idea of whats happening around Forster.

Hi Adrian

The sailing club on Wallis is the go. Easy rigging and only a little bit of a walk out into deeper water when the tide is low. A weed fin can come in handy though.

I reckon Wind guru <www.windguru.cz/62176;

gives you a pretty good idea of what's going to happen on the lake there. SW is great from here. Ill be up there from the the end of the month for a week myself. I'll be hoping this Sunday happens again whilst I'm there for sure

Thanks guys!!

If the wind does what it is meant to, I should be at the sailing club on Wallis Sunday arvo. I will be up there the whole weekend, so if there is wind at any time, you will probably catch me there also.

Cheers,

Adrian

It's OK... I just sprained my ankle in my lunch break... so I jinxed myself already, so the wind will be fine!! :(

I will have to see how this ankle comes up. I will be up at Forster for the weekend, but unless the ankle is OK, I will not be sailing. Feels pretty bad and swollen at the moment.
