Hey Jas,

I live in Port Mac, and our two premier speed sailing spots are the mudbank at Queens Lake near Laurieton (about 25/30mins south of Port), and Harrington, about 45mins south of Port.

# Harrington is fantastic in anything from SE to SSW (SE,SSE, S, SSW)
# This time of year Queens is best on a West to SW.

Normally it is clear cut on which spot is best due to the wind direction. Saturday looks pretty sh1t for both spots (early/mid next week looks like there could be a few runs).

Further South of Harrington you have Canton Beach and Peel Street at Budgewoi. I will let the Southern Marauders tout these spots as I haven't sailed them.

The other spots you have mentioned: Not much worth mentioning around Iluka. Yamba (other side of the river to Iluka) has a speed run behind the break wall but it only works in a NE. SWR is a bump and Jump spot, awesome fun though. Never sailed around Nambucca, but aerial shots of the sandbar in the river mouth look fun for NE-SE, but yet to hear of anyone giving it a serious try.

Cheers, Adam

Found a spot near woy woy (brisbane inlet) very tidal & only works in a true northerly wind directions.watch out for powerboats & rocks 5o mtrrs out from the second land marker. Summer seebreezers are the best time to head to this unique speed strip

Awesome to have you guy's coming to PEELY we've all got a buzz going down here. Massive Delta sounds AWESOME!!!
Defiantly a bonus windsurfing at Peely if you need directions punch in Toukley and Peel st, look for nice flat water with the sails flying along, you've found. Rig up just past the Aquatic club and Cut Sick!

I was thinking of coming up to Canton on Sunday. Is peel st a better spot for the forecast direction?

peely st, is flatter than canton, its simply shallower and will be a lot flatter than canton in solid wind, it is very thick weed, canton will be sailable and enjoyable as well, but not as flat, I would think that lake Illawarra , down south, will be the best in that direction, assuming its predominantly from the west, plus lake Illawarra has some great sailors if you feel like running with the big boys,

Gavnwend,
could you put up a google earth shot of the woy woy spot, I have been looking there myself & would be interested to have a look at it but can't quite guess where you mean.

Nicole theres nothing like advice from the expert I haven't sailed peely or canton in a westerly, but if you want some advice from the expert , you wont get cleaner wind anywhere elese in a westerly than primbee

Is 'the' expert still happy to let me in at Primbee and maybe still please give me his expert advice after I didn't agree that windsurfing is dying?

Hey Keef, I agree with you mate. Close to the strongest wind I've sailed in was at Primbee. Never seen so many people standing on the beach cause it was to windy!!! Pussy's Haaaa.
Peely is a sweet spot but definately no where near as consistant with the a westerly wind, but offers the same. Just a little better in the way of flat water and long runs. AND. Pretty much sailable in any direction.
Hope the wind blows its ass off this week. I'm over work and if its blowing, STUFF WORK!!!!!
C'MON HUE !!!
