We had a look at the picnic area reserve at queen lake. It has potential on a southerly. Big area to sail

NE Wind: Anywhere in the ocean (Middle Rock near Lake Cathie for cross -on wave sailing is always my pick). Jordan's Boating Centre on the river at Port Mac (30min drive north from CH). South West Rocks for onshore fun BnJ sailing, which is about 1.5hrs up the road from CH. If ENE, Queens Lake can be ok (rig and sail from the sailing club or from Seltin Glen boat ramp).

S Wind: Harrington (see the last few contributions of haircuts thread on South West Rocks) about 30min south CH. Watson Taylor Lake is ok in a southerly as well, but Harrington is just so special.

SE or SW: Queens Lake. SE is special at Queens. Long runs. For SE winds launch at picnic area off Bobs Creek Rd. SW by nature is always gusty anywhere, but fun on the mudbank at queens - flattish water. For SW winds launch from Seltin Glen boat ramp. Avoid Queens in a southerly, North Brother mountain blocks most of the wind and makes it a gusty and misery to sail. Will need a weed fin to sail Queens easily, or you will get frustrated.

If you need some gear or parts when you are up contact Mark Jordan of Jordan's Boating Centre.

PM me if you need more info than what is posted
