The southerly on saturday?
Not a chance. it'll be completely dead.
Mother nature doesn't have the balls to put on some serious wind.
Surf will be dead flat too.
i don't think reverse psychology works Qwerty, it's been tried.
BTW, thanks for the red thumbs ya sooks! ![]()
It will
.......'cos I have a 10 hour lunch to go to ![]()
& may not remember much![]()
So ... I'm going out Friday after lunch to Ramsgate/Dolls, no matter what the conditions![]()
Seven weeks is just too long between sails
It will happen because as fate would have it the only time during the last 3 months that there might actually be decent wind....I'm going out of state. Nooooooooo!
would you believe it, Ive been waiting so friggin long and when it does come; ive got to bloody well work GRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Maybe the Roaches will get some runs on the board?
BOM's already dropped the forecast by 5 knots to 20-30...![]()
OOhhh, Friday afternoon and it's still looking good. I feel a trip up to Canton beach will be required tomorrow........![]()
See you all there, Sando strip, around 8am. Bring ya big gear. I'm packing the formula kit. Desperate times calls for desperate measures!![]()
Wind just hit 15mins ago in the city. Our office windows face S and W. The glass was deflecting severely during the gusts.. Must have been howling down on the bay.
had a bit under an hour on the water at wanda - had to be at least 35knots when I first went out, but dropped a bit as soon as I flattened the 4.7 - kicked again as I got out about 5pm
waves were small and far between and it was rather cool even when sailing, but have a second steamer (dry) if the forecast holds for tommorrow
for the guys who are keen for setting up small rigs in the hope of wind, myself and a couple of mates will be heading to stgeorge sailing club around 10 tomorrow. see you there
all over red rover...
I happened to see that the wind kicked at Belambi Point around 3:30pm... managed to get in the car around 4pm but got stuck in traffic. Wind hit the bay around 4:15pm with a solid 35 knts and 40 knt gusts.
Got to La Perouse around 4:35pm... rigged and on the water by 10 to 5...
What can I say. I was comfortably on a 4.7. The sun came out behind the clouds and all I could see was a fire orange sky, water and clouds. Combine that with a massive rainbow. Every time a small chopped rolled through it was throwing massively long shadows due to the low sitting sun. I wish I had a camera with me as it was probably the most incredible sunset sail I have ever had...
... actually no, scrab that. Had a sunset downwinder with Windwarrior and Chicken Stu a couple of years ago in Gerladton which was pretty special. But today will be stuck in my memory for ever.
If it wasn't for the constant thought of hungry little sharks hanging around I probably would have stayed well past sunset.
Finished up around 5:30 and left by 5:45. At that stage the wind had dropped quite considerably. Sorry to say guys but I don't think there will too much left around Saturday. I'll be checking the wind at 6:30am but I am not keeping my hopes up.
Although no waves this was probably one of the best sails I have every had!!!
Just got back from Perisher and guess what? It blew its backside off.
Get home and bloody nothing.
Plenty of snow though.![]()

.
Cheers
had a quick sail at Kurnell on the Friday. got a few runs in between 3 and 4pm but then the wind died only to come back pretty strong from the SW. thought it didn't look that strong
so i ventured back out with the 5.7. big mistake as it was 30knots plus and at only 69kg i was in danger of being blown across to La Perouse and joining Stehsegler. i was very happy to make it safely back in
. Was there to witness the Spectacular rainbow as i packed up my kit.
