I'm doing another trip/drive Syd-Noosa in September and usually get my pick of wave sailing spots otw up or back.
I realise Sept is typically all over the shop and I always check out Old Bar (NE), Flat top (Coffs) and Flat top (Balina) and was just wondering if anyone has scored
Station Creek (NE) - what's access like
Wooli (S) - do you get surf near the breakwater
Broom's Head (SE) - what swell is good, how's the depth/rocks

Haven't sailed those places you ask of, but when coming through he MNC, PM me and will get you to our local if we have wind. Our spot is better than old bar (assuming you mean Wallabi Point near old bar) and just 45mins further North. A few kites to contend with on most arvos but plenty of room.

Minnie Waters and Brooms Head must both be good in a southeast.
Long sectioning right hand points and wind over a reef and lagoon.
Waves aren't really the top to bottom running points that other places are, but look good for sailing where you can get over the flatter sections and around the closeouts.
I've tried Brooms Head a few times, not quite had wave and wind right, couple times had too much west in it and everything is in too much wind shadow from the point. But to me it still looks one of the best set-ups around. Grass rigging outside your tent door and then 3 steps into the sea.
Station Creek looks OK in a NE on maps, but the set-up doesn't seem to really work. The corner isn't really big enough to sail and you don't get waves breaking around off the point. Access is 2WD dirt track to camp site, then you need either bit of a walk or 4wd through the dunes and up the beach. Big high tides make the beach hard going (or impossible). Maybe some places just north of the creek mouth but unless you are into 4wd adventure and want to burn some fuel I would head to Wooli / Minnie waters and then Brooms Head / Illaroo.
thanks for the feedback. it's always best to hear actual sailing experience at particular spots as some could be great (in theory) but the waves/wind are not quite right.
I'm trying to expand my options as, despite better roads, it is still 11-12 hours to Noosa and a bit of strategy/luck applies in being at the right beach when it is meant to be windy.

This is probably not much help. Never sailed any of these spots but have spent heaps of time at Wooli, Minnie and Brooms and haven't seen them working nicely.
I know more than one person who has written off a 4wd trying to get to the Station Creek beach camp ground. Be careful!
Def try the spot AJEaster has mentioned before burning fuel on these 3. Although they're all beautiful places to camp and hang out even if no sailing 
brooms head faces the right direction, but it doesn't really hold a good wave at all, more just sideshore bump and jump really. That said i've never been there when it's been proper windy.
For a proper wave I would put flat top at woolgoolga, and flat rock at ballina on the list for great sails in a SE'er.
Lennox works pretty good as well for a bit of jumping. I think it can get a pretty good wave too, but hasn't happened for me yet.
