is anyone sailing down gerroa way over next few days? prob head down wednesday and stay till friday. certainly looks like wind should be on the cards, all thats missing is some waves
Could someone confirm (Stehsegler) that the Gerroa anemometer is totally rooted? I say this because over the past 3 days I reckon the wind down there has probably been 25kts on average, maybe 30kts today. I make this assessment based on the correlation between the Pt. Perpendicular observations and the wind at Gerroa, as observed from my previous experience. I didn't get a chance to get down there on the weekend as I twisted my ankle on Friday so if someone could confirm, excellent ![]()
+1
how windy has it been down at gerroa over the last 3 days?
Is nobody is willing to confirm because there was actually no wind down there?? the mighty gerroa cant even break even with belambi anymore?? ![]()
I have been told it's pretty windy (by significant other)... ... in typical fashion I am away this week. ****.
Also, I can second the Point Perpendicular comment. The meter out there is always about 5 knts less then what it is in Gerroa.
Around 15 knots NE at Shoalhaven Heads this morning when I was walking the dog (8:30am)
If it's not howling by now, I'd be very surprised.
(I too am stuck at work)
I'm here for the week. The weekend was great for the contest, Tim and the crew do an awesome job.
I don't know who does the forecasting but Monday was super light. I ended up on the Sup with a 5.3, the wind got up to about 12- 15 knots for 30 mins then dropped to 6-8, great fun on the SUP. A couple of guys tried to get going on waveboards but had no luck.
There's a couple of guys out now slogging out an getting a few waves, the swell is knee to thigh ( I'm short calf high to Thomas):).
The wind should pick up this arvo, had a look at the heads and there is a bit of wind swell getting in.

Cheers everyone, Gerroa's reputation remains intact.. It was 4.7 weather yesterday on lake Illawarra apparently.. A challenger appears!
Sailed in the comp with a 5.8 on Sat then 5.2 on Sun, drove to Merimbula yesterday and was windy all the way down here(no sail). Today after spending time with the Family, had a look at the secret spot. No one out there(and no waves) so had 2 hours out at Ford oval. Maxed out on a 5.2 and 75lt board. 30 knts in the gusts but sadly no waves
. Meant to be windy tomorrow and for the next few days.
Tathra or secret spot tomorrow?
Secret spot?May pick your brains on that secret spot after a couple of beers onThursday Donk.See you on the sand or at the pub.![]()
