Hello all,
I am jo, I live in Belgium and I quite impulsively booked a trip to Australia.
As of now i only have a ticket to Sydney ( 23 March) and that's about it.
Not quite sure what I would like to see and do during my 5 week trip.
I would like to windsurf for one or more days.
Could anyone advise me where I could rent some gear and where I could sail in moderate (2,5 meters ?) waves? I am only 65 kgs so light wind is not a problem for me.
if possible with not too many sharks. Hrrr.
many thanks,
Jo
There's been a few sharks around lately, so make sure you get a shark whacker when you rent your gear. ![]()
many thanks for the replies.
I will have a look at the links.
Still four weeks to work and i am on my way.
I was thinking about covering myself with used motor oil to repell the sharks ![]()
speaking of sharks - I was out @ Wanda all day yesterday having a blast on 5.9 & ca62 slalom when I saw shark diving away 2 or 3 meters in front of me coming out of a jibe... needless to say I stood all my jibes afterwards ![]()
great day btw, and great spot
cheers
chris (also from Belgium)
You shouldn't tell visiting windsurfers about the shark whackers Des....if the sharks have their fill on visitors they might leave us alone!
When's the wave sailing season start and end around Sydney? I'm just starting on waves, so seriously, what's the least shark infested area so I'm not bait for too long while in the water?
Don't worry about the fish, your chances of getting killed or injured are about a million times greater on your drive to the beach, and the roads are pretty safe around here. ![]()
