Fri 10-15K NE, Sat 20K+ S, Mon 20K S. C'MON. I need to shake this mild depression.
surf is pretty solid as well. water 23 deg.
might be in the 20K range at Gerroa, Fri. any thoughts?
^^You just had to go and says something didn't you, Couldn't keep your mouth shut for the greater good. [}:)]
.....Anyways I've got my fingers and toes crossed and my special undies on so hopefully that cancels out what you've gone and done![]()
I'm guessing the Gong might actually be windier than Gerroa. always seems to be early and late in the season.
re the Southerly... well I guess you just destroyed that one since you had to talk about it.![]()
Good Friday at Gerroa turned out to be quite good, lots of sailors out and a few kiters. I counted about 20 sails at one stage with everyone enjoying up to half mast conditions with the odd bigger one in there. The wind was a bit patchy to begin with, I don't know about the other guys but I got worked a few times. Later in the arvo the wind filled in a bit, I was shagged by that stage and just sat back and had a Corona or 2 while watching the afternoon action.
.....Today was a good day![]()
To me Gerroa will now always be known as "patchy". I don't remember it being as sketchy as it has been this season, maybe it's just me. Anyway there were some sweet bombs to be had and overall a good day. I saw a bit of carnage too, some huge wipeouts, at least 2 broken masts and I did an extension
Water is beautiful atm too.
i remember in the 90's Gerroa was twice as windy in a NE than anywhere else. every single time ... and super consistant, . certainly different now, . sick day though!! my carnage was a mast to the face...... gonna have a rude head all week now ![]()
Well picked Stegs, Corrimal had a solid breeze. And waves! having made it out back in one piece I stayed there.
good to hear some of you got some fun time out on the water.
as I was stuck in the office trying to get things done before heading off to Maui for 5 weeks. I could only watch the action unfold on web cam.
any photos? just to rub it in?
Unusually the wind and waves were better down the beach. Some big sets, a couple nearly mast high between 2 & 3pm. Long peeling sets they began well out to sea were so much fun. I got a hoot from the surfers for hopefully doing something critical. Standout sailors were Doogs and Goey both on fanatic quads.
