Dose canton work in a westerly, N wester like today. Its howling in newy will it be worth the drive? anyone heading out.
Westerly is fine at Canton. NW not sure but I don't think its the best direction there as any northerly wind would be offshore and gusty.
The Fish Co Op North Entrance works well in a NW but you need local knowledge for the channels. Usually guys out. However the way it is predicted to swing more W maybe best to wait and see.
When it swings WNW - W Canton should be great.
I'm waiting for it to swing more W as predicted then I will be there.
If it stays NW the Co Op will be best.
Hoping for a few photos today ( hope I can sail well enough..
). My partner is coming down and he's a good photographer. I'll tell him to take shots of everyone..Hope the angle is good at Canton so people will be close enough for decent shots.
Heading down now. Hopefully the wind will oblige & not be as strong as last weekend..It would be nice to be able to attempt a gybe..( too dangerous last weekend).
Thought about heading down but had only an hour to spare so settled for Bonnells Bay instead. It was smokin.
What a great sail at canton, had 5.2 up was to big at times but nice & flat on the inside & 2ft chop out further. Its colder down there than up lake mac but better for gybes & speed. I had me vid cam, just got to send it to greg & he will post it up.
