I was working down at canada bay on saturday & about 3pm i saw sombody windsurfing so i did the only thing possible i packed up as fast as i could & went to join them . Unfortunatly they had packed up & gone home still i had a bit of fun & was overpowered with the 7.5 for a while & the wind lasted until about 6pm . I did wonder were the other person launched from as they seemed farther down the bay than were i sailed . I launched from a tiny beach off firth ave i think. Back to workthere again today so i hope i can get another sail in might even be fast enough packing up if i see another sail to join whoever if they go

have sailed Canada Bay in a southerly circa late 1980's but for NE/ENE I would recommend Rodd Point for NE as it funnels there nicely.

there are more exposed areas but if you live nearby Rodd is a good flat water option

Hey mate - that was me you saw out there on Saturday. Went out on a 7.2 to start with, but felt massively overpowered (not been out in a while so a bit rusty), so changed to a 5.4 and felt a bit better. Was a bit too blustery for me, but good fun all the same.

You looked like you were going well - I was impressed that you held on to a 7.5.

I've seen a few others out in the bay from time to time, but doesn't seem to be a particularly popular place to sail. I think most people in that area probably go over to Rodd Point.
