If you can get to Gerroa I've got a 4.7 gun that you can have, no mast though. It Riggs on a 400 but has an adjustable top, I think it can be forced onto a 430. If you want to make a weekend out of it I can put you up and take you to a real good learners spot, weather and work depending.

Anyways it's there if you want it.

Cheers jase.

I can lend you my 3.5m (which is for sale btw) however not sure if I can lend you my mast, its a an NP x9 which is over a $1000 to replace. As you can appreciate it may get a beating with a learner. I'm in Sydney inner city BTW.

Price depends on the length, brand and how performance oriented the mast is. Most brands have different ranges of masts with a lower cost, recreational range and then a higher cost, performance range. Usually the carbon content of the mast reflects the cost and performance of the mast with higher content masts costing more and having higher performance.

There wouldn't be many high performance, high carbon content masts around for $300. You'd normally pay at least twice that amount for a higher performance mast.

At the early stages and probably for most windsurfers sailing less high performance sails, the mast doesn't have to be super high performance and super high cost.

The sail has a vario top so you can stick a longer mast in it, however it wouldn't perform too well. But at early learner stages you probably wouldn't notice.

The sail you can borrow or buy for $100, it hasn't had much use being a small size.

100% carbon performance masts or booms are expensive, unfortunately.

But I'd be looking for a used 30% carbon mast which you should be able to pick up for around $150-200, and they're pretty togh for learning.
