I'll be near lake Illawara for work tomorrow afternoon. Hoping to squeeze in a sail, where's the best spot to launch in the forecast SE'erly?

Launching from Kanahooka on the western side will give you consistent wind. It probably will be quite choppy though.

When the wind is from the south it can get very holey at the yacht club and can be difficult to get across the channel over to Primbee side, so I tend to launch at Purry Burry reserve at the point of Primbee and walk out till you get clean wind. Shallow for a long way around there. Not real sure how clean a SE wind is at the Yacht club. Some guys sail near Berkeley fish Co'op in southerlies but if the winds marginal can be difficult to get back.

It'll be the yacht club for me (and based on history, most of the local regulars). First time on the water for about 5 months...mmmmmmm!!!!

Have to vote with Teabaggin this time. Try Primbee first. Might be a bit of a walk but should find the wind. Unless you have a weed fin you'll get annoyed though. Wet suit booties handy for the walk.

You shouldn't need a weedie from Kanahooka but wet suit booties are essential as the launch has a sharp rocky bottom.

I've got a weed fin, but not booties.
