It looks like... like a Summer sea breeze pattern. ![]()
3 days of building afternoon NE'rs (before a SE change)
But it's only mid July. ![]()
(preempt: Aaaand it's gone.)
The thing with Sydney weather its quite unpredictable. Who knows what will happen next month or the one after that? Most probably similar days today. Nice and sunny but not much wind due big high pressure systems sitting over Australia and blocking all the fronts from making it up here. If the highs move away then we might get some wind.
Only six or seven weeks to spring.and before you know it those thermals up there will do their job roll on summer.
Whats happened to the usual W fronts? We seem to be getting troughs that go and form East Coast lows..That's not normal for this time of year is it? We should be getting SW fronts ( that bring the snow down sth)..

Notice the pleasant days and cold nights we've been having? They are courtesy of big high pressure systems sitting over Australia. These same highs block any front getting up here.
In regards to the lows that bring rain and wind, I'm not sure if the are unusual or not. I'd say it's fairly normal for a low and associated trough to sneak in every now and then.
In the end blame the big high pressure systems over Australia for a lack of winter winds.
