Will try and get a shot of conditions today for those thinking of making the trip.
Predicted to go west sou west in the arvo today.. Straight west to west nor west tomorrow which will be the pick
Been watching novacastrian obs the last few days, and hoping the same happens 600miles eeene of there, but right now on arrival its a mellow prelude westery as against the moderate wind that was whipping across botany bay on take off at noon
Got one organised for Tuesday... In Perth ![]()
bummer... did you get on the water late avo today?
Was pretty calm early this morning but westerly is now back in and building here in the Bay.
Wendell got out yesterday early arvo, his report was 20 to 25 cross shore with chest high waves
Not sure if he got any pics or if there was anyone else out with him.
*Any chance of a report Wendell ?
I had a few things come up in the arvo that prevented me from sailing or even getting down to snap a picture to post of the conditions.
Low tide at 1206 just after midday today, Sunday, so mid arvo should be the go on an incoming tide.
Wind is pretty gusty at present but should fill in a bit between the gusts.
The 25 kts I'd seen pre-rigging turned into 15 -20 when I sailed (1pm- 2.30pm) so only a few jumps with a 4.5m but the best waves I've had there for a while. Shoulder high and angling in strongly from the left (east swell) and smoother than normal. Did about 5 chicken gybes on the way out, never swam. Just me and a few kites. I was surprised to see how light the wind registered at Nobbys during that period, about 15 kts which would normally equate to about 10 on the water at Birubi. Williamtown said 18 kts.
