I'm staying around Newcastle for next few days for work but seems some SW winds kicking in so bringing with whole Wavesailing and surfing quiver too but in fact I've never visited Newcastle town.
Is there any recommendation for this kind of condition and anything I have to keep in mind? (dangerous spots, local rules etc)

A few of us should be up at birubi tomorrow if you can get away from work. 8ft+ swell on thursday will have most beaches closing out, maybe dixon park beach first thing in the morning before the swell gets out of control.
