I am heading up to BB in sept for a couple of weeks.
Travelling from Tassy so unable to take my gear.
Anyone in Byron rent decent wavesailing gear & what chance of suitable conditions at that time of year?

Its probably a good idea to ask the same question in the Queensland forum.

Flat Top, between Lennox and Ballina, 20min drive south of Byron, is about as good as you will find for cross offshore, perfect waves, winds from the south. Can handle just about any size swell. In september, you will get some early NE winds, so try the surfclub at Lennox where the Wave Sailing Nationals were some 15 years ago or so. I don't know about equipment hire.

you can also get some good conditions in Byron itself when there is a low just off the North Coast.

Not much in the way of windsurf rental as far as I know. You can get some kite gear though.
