I went out at wanda yesterday at about 2.30.
Wind light but just enough to waterstart.
Waves were 3/4 mast in the sets and breaking top to bottom and strong currents.
Good fun but hard work getting out.
Fitness goes quick with a month off and a few to many beers in that time
.
Matt and Prez went in as I was getting out.
Anyone go out Gerroa way?
Looked like it could have been good down that way.
I was down there the last week but had to leave yesterday morning due to some commitments here in Sydney... grr...
when we left at 10:30am it was a solid peeling 6 foot, wind was about 10 knts. , I can only imagine how good it would have been in the afternoon... double grrr.
How strong did the wind get down there Whyner.
The waves closing out?, they were at wanda.
That must have hurt stehsegler, the one that got away!
I only sailed at 12-2. Was getting better and better, spewing I had to leave. Waves where pretty good, closing out abit but get 2-3 smacks on most. When I sailed it was 15kts and when I left it was 20kts and looking awesome.
I managed less than an hour as a bigger set turned a small seam tear into a full panel needing replacement - sailed in with the tack reinforcement the only thing in place below the boom - at least I got some waves before it happened, the wind was just enough to get out unless you were unlucky, and the waves had plenty of meat
Matt - sailing well - managed top get a bunch of good waves and I don't think he even got his sail wet - obviously well rested
