Hi
Just sharing the views from a great day in the NE.
I took these photos today between 12.30 and 2.00.
It is interesting to see how the bay reacts to the wind which was between 18 to 28 knots at different points in the bay.
The further south you go the swell from the wind is rolling down and quite rough and if you compare it to the kyeemagh ave point you could say that there is no wind at all.
Hope you enjoy the views and if you couldn't get down there today hope the photos fill up the craveing.
Kind regards
Walt
Photos are in order starting from Kyeemagh Ave 2photos, then North Carpark 2photos, then Bestic street 2photos and final Dolls point 3photos
Thanks
could it be that in a true southerly the wind always drops off towards the northerly end? am trying to gauge whether it's worth while going down Sunday. Am not good enough yet for 25 to 30 knts yet and my smallest sail is a 5.4![]()
It can get very choppy in a southerly up near the runway plus the wind is pushing you towards the rocks.
The Georges River around the St Georges sailing club. The is water much smoother. Plus if you get into trouble out in the water your will be pushed back to shore.
Launch near the sailing club. The current doesn't really matter one way or another in a southerly wind as the wind blows across the river, rather than up or down the river.
Hey Razzmatazz,
Just as shear tip has drawn in the southerly it good to launch from there and if you can get out to where the word here is written on the drawing and just abit further past that you will find real flat water in a strong Southerly which blows of the mangroves and not enough water in front of to create a swell and chop so a nice stretch to test yourself in the southerly.
Kind regards
Walt
