Balmoral Sailing Club is hosting a Discover Sailing Day, INCLUDING WINDSURFING, this Sunday, 25 Oct.
Discover Sailing Days provide an opportunity to try sailing for FREE. At Balmoral this Sunday there will ALSO be the option to try windsurfing. Techno293 boards and a range of rigs for sailors aged 10 and up will be provided for the day along with qualified instructors.
To participate you need to register online and select a time slot for windsurfers (or dinghies if you want to try a boat). The website is a little complicated, so to get to the registration page do the following:
* Go to the website: discoversailing.org.au/program-finder/
* Type "Mosman" into the SEARCH field
* Select "1. BALMORAL Sailing Club" from the list of clubs that appears beneath the Advanced Filtering Options
* Click the "VIEW AVAILABLE PROGRAM DETAILS" button in the pop-up window
* Find a suitable time slot for "Windsurfing" or "Dinghy" and click "REGISTER"
* Follow the prompts from here
For those not familiar with Techno293 class, it's a great all round board that works in both planing and displacement modes, has a range of rig options from kids to adults, is the World Youth Windsurfing Class and just happens to be MASSIVELY popular pretty much everywhere except Australia where it's just starting to take off! For more info, visit the class website: www.techno293.org/
Hope to see you this Sunday at Balmoral Sailing Club (The Esplanade, Mosman),

Hi All,
Just to confirm, 10 is the minimum age for the Windsurfing option for DSD at Balmoral (9 at a pinch). Please ignore the 5 on the DSD website.
Cheers,
David
My son hasn't quite got his pen licence yet so will he be able to use the Bic?
I'm here all week folks. Tip your waitresses.
...I'll see myself out.
Forecast is looking perfect for you guys at Balmoral tomorrow. Well done for getting this day together and hope you get a stack of new people keen to get into the sport.
