today was epic! it was good to see so many boards out :)
im so glad i did couple time yesterday, today was honestly the most fun i have had in a long time, and definitely the best windsurf i have ever had. heaps of fun was had and i met some really nice people also.
Big thanks to the guys who helped me set up my gear and gave me a few pointers, and thanks to jasper from WA who sent me a fin early last week. You guys have helped me bring my best speed from 29.90 to 33.60.
who else managed to get out today and what sort of numbers were you guys seeing? :)
i think its more like 13-14 now. i met david when it was my 10th time out. so yeah 14th i think haha. are you the gentleman who helped me out?
I was talking to you as you were rigging up (Carbon Art board held together with Knead-It)http://www.selleys.com.au/putty/epoxy/knead-it-aqua
I just can't believe how well you sail after only 14 times. Nailing gybes and absolutely smoking speeds! I think I was still sobbing, stranded on the wrong side of the bay on a One Design on my 14th outing!
You obviously got a better run after your 31.8 knots...
I managed 31.6 knots eventually:

yeah i had one really nice run between the break wall and the runway where all the cop seemed to disappear. this was closely followed by a rather spectacular (and painful) catapult resulting in a broken batten. I might try repair it this week so i can go again next week end.
thanks for the link, i might grab some this week. once again thank you for all of your help.
today is by far the fastest i have ever been so I'm keen to go try again. I'm thinking i need more weight haha!
Hi Bryce,
We chatted about GoPros. Yeah yesterday was pretty good. It was gusty though the wind filled in as time went on but was never really consistent.
Good to see you teaching your friends to windsurf too. If you are teaching people to windsurf and I'm around you could borrow my wife's board thats on the roof of my van. It will make teaching much, much easier.
I think on my 14th attempt at windsurfing it would have been on Port Stephens and I was rescued by a bloke in a tinny after being blown onto the oyster leases.
not a bad sail - had some fun blasting in the gusts and some great carve gybing in flat water. There was some huge hiles out there tho - at times i was holding the sail up there was so little wind.
Highlight of the day was my close call with a Jetski going flat tack up towads the river. I saw him at last second and had to bail to avoid getting hit. sadly i didnt get his rego number.
awesome day, loved seeing over 45 boards down at the bay!!! also good to see a couple of kids learning. i thought i was going to be the young one for ever!
