I wish... stuck with bloody work. Best I got today was looking out the window at the break. A couple of guys out getting the odd wave. It didn't look very big... probably in the 3 foot range.

I actually had to drive up to Windang late afternoon and it looked like there was quite a bit more wind that way.

As far as waves are concerned tomorrow should see even less... but the wind should increase in strength.

I ride a 82l with a 5.6 as my largest, does this still sound worth the drive? (It's claim as anything here in Sydney)

well, that all depends how heavy you are... I am a lard arse so 82 would be a big no no for me... at the moment I am riding the most incredibly awesome 99 Thruster which is just perfect for my +100kg weight for the current conditions.

As for today I think I'd give Corrimal Beach or Warrila a shot. If yesterday is anything the go by the wind should be better up there plus those spots usually get a bit more swell. You are driving past on the way down so why not check it out.

BTW, wind at the moment seems to be best between about 1 and 3 pm. After 3pm it goes a bit too Northerly for Gerroa.

if you're interested in waves, forget sailing at warilla, last 12-18 months the sand drift has caused the dunes in increase and there is a big wind shadow running the length of the shore, hard enough to keep a kite powered let alone catch wind in a sail.

three polies out this arvo all seemed to struggle

I've surfed a few banks recently out warilla. Better than the last few years but probably no good when the swell is too small.
